Andrew G. Kireta Jr. is set to take the reins of ASTM International as its new president, succeeding Katherine Morgan, who retires after four decades of service with the organization. Kireta’s extensive background in standards development and his familiarity with ASTM’s operations uniquely position him for this leadership role. Currently serving as president and chief executive officer of the Copper Development Association, Kireta has been associated with ASTM International since 1998, holding various volunteer roles before joining the board of directors in 2014 and serving as chair in 2020.
Bill Griese, the Chair of 2024, expresses confidence in Kireta’s ability to lead ASTM, citing his dedication to the organization’s mission, values, and membership. Griese also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of outgoing president Katherine Morgan, who played a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth transition.
In response to his appointment, Kireta expresses humility and respect for ASTM’s legacy and its impact on industry and society over 125 years. He looks forward to collaborating with the ASTM community to further the organization’s mission of improving the world’s functioning.
